Tomato Jake is a one man tour-de-force. Originally starting in 2015 outside of Nashville, TN Tomato Jake now resides in Lancaster, PA.
Tomato Jake's music is an intense exposure to the senses, mixing a blend of fast spastic bass playing enveloped 16 bit sounds while
breakneck visuals whip by in the background. The performance leaves most crowds either completely stunned or losing their minds dancing.
Tomato Jake is truly a unique performance you do not want to miss.
A Brief History
Tomato Jake began his music career in 2009, joining the Hershey, PA, band Tomato Face. The band relocated to Murfreesboro, TN, in 2012, where they performed until moving back to PA in 2016 and then until their breakup in 2021. Rewind to 2015, Tomato Jake started performing as a solo artist, primarily for touring purposes. That year saw the dual release of Yolks> and Debug Mode, two instrumental samplings of music that would later become Tomato Face’s The Eggs album.
In 2016, Tomato Jake released another collection of instrumental Tomato Face covers on the Old Shit Split tape. The year 2017 saw the release of Tomato Gear: Solid Jake, a compilation of unreleased Tomato Face songs. In 2018, Tomato Jake released an 8-bit instrumental version of The Residents’ Commercial Album.
During this time, Tomato Jake was actively touring the East Coast. From 2017 to 2022, there was at least one major Tomato Jake tour each year, except in 2018 and 2020. In 2020, he recorded several hours' worth of drum tracks that would later be used on various releases. In 2021, several of these songs were released as singles and compiled into the album What I Did on My Summer Vacation. That year also saw the release of Tomato Jake’s first single on a floppy disk, PxPG, a cover of the Roman Gabriel Todd's The Beast Rising Up Out of The Sea song Poisoned by Pork Gravy. In 2022, he released the album Identity Crisis, another collection of unused and obscure Tomato Face songs. Accompanying that album was the first Tomato Jake music video for the song Worm World.
In 2023, Tomato Jake took a much-needed break, playing only seven shows throughout the year. 2024 wasn’t much different, but during the downtime, he began working on a new album of original material. In the second half of 2024, he also collaborated with the New York City band No One and The Somebodies on a tour that took place at the end of February 2025. That tour marked the release of a second floppy disk single, The Curse of Mayor McCheese’s Bloodied Purse: A Purse Curse: By Agatha Christie and a new bass-guitar focused direction for Tomato Jake’s style.
Currently, Tomato Jake is wrapping up production on a cover version of the Tomato Face album The Eggs to coincide with its 10-year anniversary. He hopes to spend more time touring, writing new music, and working on other projects. One new project, Atlas Musica, can be viewed here. Tomato Jake hopes to see your bright smiling faces in the future; See ya soon!
